(1) Yards IPA
(9) Red Stripe
I don’t think I have ever tasted Yards IPA, but I am sure that it is a pretty good beer. Red Stripe probably has a better advertising department than Yards. A vote for Yards is a vote for beer. A vote for Red Stripe is a vote for commercials that make fun of white people for dancing poorly. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIORITIES?

This game has the feel of a duel between two teams that have seen better days. Just like this year’s Michigan State/UCLA first round matchup, these programs have known glory, but seem to be on the downward trend. Clinging to the glory of it’s 1893 title, PBR is an early favorite to edge out its short, stubby Jamaican counterpart.
I recently went to Jamaica with Boardwalk for a friend’s wedding. I didn’t know much about Jamaica in general and never mind the beer. Probably like most people, the only thing I think of when I hear “Jamaican beer” is Red Stripe. So on this trip I made it two goals: first to find out if there is other Jamaican beer and second to test a few Red Stripes on the beach.
Have you noticed there aren’t any commercials for good beer? It’s always the shitty macro beers you see on TV. Or the “imports”. I watched a commercial today for MGD 64. The premise behind this awesome beer is that it has low calories. That’s right, low calories. We’re worried about calories in our beer now? We all know that drinking a lot of beer will give you the DREADED BEER BELLY (AAAAAHHH!!!!). You’re just supposed to drink in moderation. Or at least that’s what the Red Stripe guy told me.
